DJ Khaled may be ruling the Top Spins Chart with the #1 and #2 tracks, but if you venture over to the Pandora Predictions Chart, you’re likely to discover some names that neither you nor DJ Khaled have ever heard of. Like an up-and-coming pop punk band from Pittsburgh — say that five times fast —or a indie-pop trio all about that bicoastal life. Read on for an introduction to all the new faces on the Predictions Chart.

A Summer High

If you thought the days of boy bands ended when the pop machine once known as One Direction abruptly broke down, think again. In fact, there’s not just one boy band stepping up to the plate, but a whole new class of them. While Why Don’t We rule the Trendsetters Chart, A Summer High are the leaders of Predictions. With their angsty pop punk, they’re the Simple Plan to Why Don’t We’s NSYNC, the Good Charlotte to their Backstreet Boys. And considering that they’re debuting this week at #1, there seems to be a very real hunger for pop punk.

The quartet, who hail from Pittsburgh, have been having a pretty big month after releasing their music video for “Pretty Little Liar,” the lead single off their EP of the same name. This month compared to last month, A Summer High’s YouTube subscribers have increased by over 2,300%, while their Facebook page likes have more than doubled. And like any good boy band, they also have strong fan engagement. On Twitter, for example, they’ve been averaging 324 mentions per day over the past 30 days—85 times what we’d expect from an artist with their reach on the platform.

LANY

Prefer indie pop to pop punk? Check out rising trio LANY. They’re based in LA, but Paul Jason Klein, Les Priest, and Jake Goss aren’t bound to the West Coast, as their name stands for “Los Angeles New York.” LANY debut this week at #6 after seeing significant growth on social media and Pandora following the June 30 release of their full-length debut.

Month-on-month, LANY have increased their followers on Facebook and Instagram by over 200%, seen a 180% increase in traffic to their Wikipedia page, and upped their Twitter followers of 150%. On Pandora, they’ve seen a 70% month-on-month uptick in artist station adds, with their most popular song being “ILYSB,” above.

Mike Williams

Twenty-year-old Mike Williams is showing all the signs of being one of the next big things in EDM. He’s signed to leading Dutch dance label Spinnin’ Records, has a mentor in “godfather of EDM” Tiesto, and has already played on the main stage of EDC Las Vegas. But it isn’t just his accolades that tell us he’s going somewhere, but his growth on social media, too.

Williams has been growing his fanbase steadily over the past year, but it wasn’t until this month that he really caught our eye, with the release of “Let’s Go.” The track, which is a collaboration with Lucas & Steve and Curbi, has helped drive a 25% uptick in Facebook page likes and a 110% lift in Twitter followers month-on-month. He currently sees the highest engagement on Twitter, where he’s seen an average of 136 mentions per day over the last 30 days, which is 21x the expected activity for an audience of 25,874 total followers.

Elsewhere on the Predictions Chart, Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Darkiel jumps eight spots this week, from #15 to #7. He debuted on the chart last week following the release of his latest single, “Hasta el Cielo.” For the full list of Predictions artists, head here.
