SXSW is just around the corner, and for those who are headed to Austin here are a couple of must sees from our chart.

On top this week is RDGLDGRN (Read that Red Gold Green), a DC band whose sound can be described as Go Go indie pop. The trio are signed to Fairfax Records and released their self-titled debut EP in early February, which they recorded at Sound City Studios (The subject of Dave Grohl’s much-talked-about documentary). According to their social data the EP has been well received. In the past month they have seen almost a 100% increase in new Facebook page likes compared to the previous, about 30% of their total, more than 500,000 video views on VEVO, and are about to hit 50,000 plays all time on SoundCloud. RDGLDGRN will be playing Latitude 30 on Saturday March 16th.

Hip Hop duo out of Canada, The Airplane Boys, are also heading down to play the festival this year, and just snagged the second slot on our chart. Beck Motley and Bon Voyage have been making music together for several years now, but recently put out their third project, a 10-track mix tape entitled Brave New World, and saw a big spike in numbers around the release. With about 30,000 plays on SoundCloud in the two weeks surrounding, they saw a 172% increase from the fortnight prior, bringing their total to more than 150,000. They will soon hit 10,000 page likes on Facebook and have more than 5,000 followers on Twitter. The Airplane Boys will be playing Bar 96 on March 14th, but get there early as they are set to go on at 3 pm!

Tenth on the chart is a band that will be returning to SXSW this year. A revival rock six-piece band, Bronze Radio Return are from Hartfold, Connecticut. They dropped SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE! in March 2011, have been touring extensively since, and are about to release another album in the coming year. In the two weeks leading up to their Next Big Sound chart placement, the band saw a large increase across their social platforms. 8,500 new plays on SoundCloud meant a more than 70% boost in comparison to the two weeks prior. With close to 600 new Facebook page likes they reached the 10,000 marker, and are inching steadily closer to 4,000 Twitter followers. Bronze Radio Return will be playing several shows throughout the week, but their official showcase is at Rebels Honkey Tonk on Saturday March 16th (two hours after the RDGLDGRN show). More dates are listed on their Facebook event page
